The Five Points of Life and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are excited to invite you to the second annual Five Points of Life Kids Marathon Citrus County presented by Citrus Memorial Hospital. It will be held March 2, 2012 at Lecanto High School track.

The Kids Marathon originated in Gainesville, Florida in 2007 as a part of the Five Points of Life Race Weekend which is held annually in February. The goal of the Kids Marathon is to promote good health and physical fitness by giving kids the opportunity to run or walk an entire 26.2 miles, just like marathoners.

To participate kids, Kindergarten through 8th grade, complete 25 miles, one at a time, during the months prior to the marathon, logging each mile on the log sheet. To finish the full marathon kids will run the last 1.2 miles on March 2, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Lecanto High School track. All participants will receive a Kids Marathon Citrus County race packet, race number (must be worn on race day), t-shirt and finishers medal. Kids must register in order to participate.

Registration

To register, download the Five Points 2012 Kids Race Registration Form. It is FREE to register before January 15, 2012; $5 before race day and $10 on race day.

Packet Pickup

Registrants will receive their packets through their school PE department or on race day at Lecanto High School.

Race Day

Participants need to arrive at the start line (Lecanto High School track, 3810 W Educational Path, Lecanto, FL 34461) by 5:45 p.m., on March 2, with their race numbers on. The race will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

Parents

Only one parent or guardian will be permitted to accompany each participant on the 1.2 mile run.

Teachers

We have created a certificate of achievement for you to fill out and give to those children that have completed any mileage for the Five Points of Life Kids Marathon. Download the certificate.
