Kids Marathon Huntsville Presented by Jerry Damson Honda and Acura

The Five Points of Life Foundation and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are excited to invite you to be a part of the annual Five Points of Life Kids Marathon Huntsville presented by Jerry Damson Honda and Acura. It will be held May 11, 2013 at Joe Davis Stadium.

The Five Points of Life Kids Marathon started in 2007 as part of the Five Points of Life Race Weekend held in Gainesville, Florida each February. The Kids Marathon series has expanded to eight cities and reached over 3,000 children in 2012. The goal of the Kids Marathon is to promote good health and physical fitness by giving kids the opportunity to run or walk an entire 26.2 miles, just like marathoners.

To participate kids, Kindergarten through 8th grade, complete 25 miles, one at a time, during the months prior to the marathon, logging each mile on the log sheet. To finish the full marathon kids will run the last 1.2 miles on May 11, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Joe Davis Stadium. All participants will receive a Kids Marathon Huntsville race packet, race number (must be worn on race day), t-shirt and finishers medal. Kids must register in order to participate.

Packet Pickup

Registrants may pick up thier packet (includes T-shirt and race number) on Friday, May 10 at Sports Authority (6890 Governors West NW, Bridge Street Town Center, Huntsville, AL 35806) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Packets are also available for pick up starting at 8:00 a.m. on race day at Joe Davis Stadium. Remember to use the Sports Authority Coupon while you are at packet pickup!

Race Day

Participants need to arrive at the start line (Joe Davis Stadium, 3125 Leeman Ferry Road, SW, Huntsville, AL 35801) by 8:45 a.m., on May 11, with their race numbers on. The race will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Parents

Only one parent or guardian will be permitted to accompany each participant on the 1.2 mile run. Other family members and friends are encouraged to attend and cheer on the participants during the run. Parents should not register to run. Only the kids will need to register in order to receive a t-shirt, race bib, and finishers medal.

Teachers

We have created a certificate of achievement for you to fill out and give to those children that have completed any mileage for the Five Points of Life Kids Marathon.
